Case Study – Longsands Clothing Co

We’ve been working with our Northern neighbour, independent fashion brand Longsands Clothing, to bring as much of their production to the UK as possible.

Although it’s still cheaper to produce garments over seas in high quantity, Longsands Clothing wanted the versatility of using their own ‘cut’ of t-shirt with the versatility of a UK based printing company. We worked with Longsands and our overseas partner to create a base t-shirt which was produced in bulk and brought to the UK to hold in stock and allows us to print smaller runs.

After recently printing Longsands’ new collection on both stock products and Longsands base t-shirts. We applied a vintage halftone filter to all designs to give a warn-out, beaten up look to reflect the clients vision of a 70’s band t-shirt feel. All garments were finished with a printed neck label and woven hem tags were stitched in place to finish the product. We also supplied high quality polypropylene bags, barcode stickers and customised swing tags, which the customer chose to pack and label the products in-house.

This time round, Longsands asked us to take part in their ‘Made In The North’ film, showing production of one of their products. Although Custom Planet is usually very camera shy, we were happy to oblige. Watch the video below.
